Most students that attend the Art Academy of Cincinnati will not major in the design of fonts like San Francisco typography or the details of being a shoe designer. This historic school in Mt. Adams host more optionsfor students to study. Typically students will graduate from here earning jobs as teachers, advertising professionals and photographers. The top four majors that allow these graduates to get such employment are Art History, Art Education, Digital Arts and Photography. Studying art through these majors allows graduates to continue to create and be involved in art while earning a living.

Art history is the study of pieces of artwork, the creators of the artwork and the time in history in which the creations were made. This coursework gives people the background knowledge on artistic techniques used to create world famous paintings, sculptures and photography. Students can use this knowledge to create their own unique pieces of art. Also, having this artistic history is wonderful when traveling. A person who gets employment in the travel industry would make an incredible museum or gallery tour guide throughout many cities all over the world. They could communicate with the general population giving everyone a greater appreciation for the artwork itself.

Another course of study at the Art Academy is Art Education. This coursework not only gives a student the background knowledge on artwork and artistic techniques, it also allows them to share their knowledge through teaching. Art teachers are an integral part of children’s schooling. They help kids develop their imaginations, fine motor skills, visual awareness and appreciation of the arts. There are art teachers in grade schools, high schools, colleges and at many special program facilities in every major city. A person with this degree could also do art therapy with individuals with disabilities. They are able to stimulate communication through the creation of pieces of art.

Digital Arts is a third major for undergraduates at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. This major focuses on the development and creation of art through the use of a computer. People with this degree can get wonderful jobs where they create advertisements, develop print materials and manipulate photographic images. All of these skills are used in making commercials, magazine ads, professional photography and special point of sale materials. This field continues to grow and expand with the introduction of new technology year after year.

A fourth major offered to undergraduates is within the area of Photography. The schooling associated with this major teaches students how to use both film and digital mediums to create beautiful pictures. Students learn how to operate and fix cameras, as well as learning how to develop photos from A to Z. Upon graduation, they will be can get jobs as professional photographers whose clientele consists of people, products, places and possibly events. While many people own cameras, the coursework students learn here, takes their skill and knowledge to a completely different level than the average person taking pictures.
