Web designers are charged with the design, construction and running of most web sites. As can be seen, a web designer’s job is a particularly important one. All too often people wonder about what the income of a web designer is? The answer depends on several factors. The salary earnings of a web designer are affected by a number of things. The position and abilities of a web designer are perhaps the most important of these. Currently, web designers can be categorized into three positions
Web Graphic designer: These types of designers are charged with the construction and design of the web layout. They do not understand very much about html, CSS or deeper level programming and are therefore not expected to handle this area. Most graphic designers earn salaries between $20,000 to $50,000. However, really good designers normally get involved in other graphical representation (i.e. for advertising companies) and this can push their salaries to as much as $90,000.
Web designers (front end coding): Front end coding involves a mastery of important web syntax such as html, Css and some mastery of coding. These designers are able to take convert graphical representations into actual web pages which can then be viewed online. Earning more than most graphical designers, a front end web designer earns salary figures between $40,000 and $70,000. However, web designers who are also proficient in graphic designs will be able to push their earnings even more.
Web programmers: As the name suggests, web programmers are tasked with the writing of many of the complex programs which are used to run major sites. An example of websites that require these type of attention are sites like Yahoo and Google. Programmers of this nature are amongst the highest earning and can earn as much as $100,000 depending on the company in which they work for.
Other factors, some of which include the size of his company and experience level, also affect the amount a web designer can earn.
