Web designers are charged with the design, construction and running of most web sites. In the world of the internet, web designing is by far one of the most important professions. All too often people wonder about what the income of a web designer is? The answer to that question is dependent on a number of things. Several factors affect the salary cap of a web designer. Web Graphic designer: These types of designers are charged with the construction and design of the web layout. Graphic designers are less concerned with the coding involved in website constructions and are instead more focused on creating the eventual layout. Web designers in this category are normally found to earn between $20,000 and $50,000. For graphical designers who also ply their trade amongst illustration and advertisements, a salary of $90,000 is also achievable.

Web designers (front end coding): A front end web designer, is one who is competent with the use of website scripts such as Css and html. The construction of most web pages which are available online is thus handled by them. Web designers like these earn more than graphic designers and are normally found with salary values of $40,000 to $70,000. A web designer can earn even more if he also happens to be proficient in graphic design as well.

Web programmers: As the name suggests, web programmers are tasked with the writing of many of the complex programs which are used to run major sites. Websites such as yahoo and Google employ back end coding which allows them perform effectively. Programmers of this nature are amongst the highest earning and can earn as much as $100,000 depending on the company in which they work for.

There are many other factors which will affect the amount a web designer makes, i.e. the size of his company.
