Web designers are charged with the design, construction and running of most web sites. As can be seen, a web designer’s job is a particularly important one. Web Graphic designer: These types of designers are charged with the construction and design of the web layout. Such areas such as the coding of websites using front end scripts like html and CSS do not lie in the forte of a graphic designer. Web designers in this category are normally found to earn between $20,000 and $50,000. For graphical designers who also ply their trade amongst illustration and advertisements, a salary of $90,000 is also achievable.

Web designers (front end coding): These involve web designers who are capable of rendering websites using front end coding scripts such as html or CSS. The construction of most web pages which are available online is thus handled by them. Earning more than most graphical designers, a front end web designer earns salary figures between $40,000 and $70,000. However, web designers who are also proficient in graphic designs will be able to push their earnings even more.

Web programmers: A web programmer has a more demanding job as he is charged with writing essential and vital programming codes which are used in running important sites. Websites such as yahoo and Google employ back end coding which allows them perform effectively. Programmers of this nature are amongst the highest earning and can earn as much as $100,000 depending on the company in which they work for.

There are many other factors which will affect the amount a web designer makes, i.e. the size of his company.
