The internet is barely three decades old and already it is making a convincing case of being around for a very long time. Highly effective as a method of communication, people and businesses have come to adapt it many services to their benefit. And supporting the growth and increased efficiency of the web are the field of professionals referred to as web designers.

Web designers are responsible for the creation and control of almost all of the websites which are found online today. The job of a web designer is an extremely important one. And with the envisaged growth in scope and use of the internet, the opportunities available to web designers are bound to improve in the future.

All too often people wonder about what the income of a web designer is? The answer to that question is dependent on a number of things. There are many factors which come into play in deciding how much a web designer will earn. By far the most important of these is the role in which you wish to work as a designer. For people who wish to become web designers, there are three possible positions

Web Graphic designer: Graphic designers are involved in the digital/graphical layout of most websites. They do not understand very much about html, CSS or deeper level programming and are therefore not expected to handle this area. Most graphic designers earn salaries between $20,000 to $50,000. However, really good designers normally get involved in other graphical representation (i.e. for advertising companies) and this can push their salaries to as much as $90,000.

Web designers (front end coding): A front end web designer, is one who is competent with the use of website scripts such as Css and html. The construction of most web pages which are available online is thus handled by them. Earning more than most graphical designers, a front end web designer earns salary figures between $40,000 and $70,000. A web designer can earn even more if he also happens to be proficient in graphic design as well.

Web programmers: Web programmers are simply that, designers who are called on write complex programs which guide the running of many websites. Websites such as yahoo and Google employ back end coding which allows them perform effectively. Programmers of this nature are amongst the highest earning and can earn as much as $100,000 depending on the company in which they work for.

Other factors, some of which include the size of his company and experience level, also affect the amount a web designer can earn.
